ShackWise Collaborative PropTech Platform

Problem

Buyers, partners, and agents needed a shared way to shortlist homes without endless back-and-forth. Property priorities were subjective, collaboration was fragmented across tools, and media plus notifications were not wired into a single real-time workflow.

Architecture decisions

• Built Socket.IO Share/Compare rooms with Redis-backed state so concurrent edits stay consistent.
• Designed a priority-weighted scoring engine so buyers can tune location, price, size, and amenities.
• Integrated Google Maps / Places for search and neighbourhood context.
• Used AWS S3 and Cloudinary for media, Firebase for push notifications.
• Hardened the API with JWT + Passport, Argon2, Helmet, Zod, and OpenAPI docs.

Role and impact

Architected and delivered the collaborative PropTech platform used by buyers and agents during shortlisting. Reduced coordination overhead and gave buyers a structured, data-driven way to prioritise homes.
